It is sad that kids lose their enthusiasm for learning, isn't it? I think lecturing is what kills a lot of it, but what else can they do? Hmmm? Teachers out there, any ideas?Marlyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06193291251401344495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096971906693742277.post-43968281736328075852010-02-25T08:55:29.880-07:002010-02-25T08:55:29.880-07:00Thanks for the info! So first, answers:

-If the hand sanitizer bottle is "contaminated", it's okay, because you're going to put sanitizer on and kill any germs you contacted. (the bottles should be wiped down periodically though)
-The best effective method of killing germs is using Soap and Warm water for 20 seconds. Certain germs are not killed by sanitizer. But, if it's all you got -- use it!
-However, they a did research study of "School absenteeisms r/t poor hand washing". They compared kids using soap to using sanitizer. They found in elementary schools the hand sanitizer worked better, interestingly. This is because most of the kids weren't using enough soap, not washing for 20 seconds, and touching contaminated sink handles.
-If your kids don't have sanitizer in their classroom, you should send it with them to keep in their desk/backpack/pocket. A study showed that teachers don't push hand-washing since many classrooms today have no sinks!

Hope that helps and didn't bore the dickens out of you! :)Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06854266979976413979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6096971906693742277.post-68837003841691189412010-02-25T05:20:52.576-07:002010-02-25T05:20:52.576-07:00Yes, teachers are amazing.
