Currently

I used to do these "Currently" updates, which I stole from my sister Lisa. But I think it's kind of a fun way to recap your current "season".

Reading: Oh, 3 pregnancy/parenting books. I sort of jump from 1 to the next. 'Sh!t they don't tell you have pregnancy", "Sh!t they don't tell you about the 1st year as a mother", and "Expecting Better". Honestly, these all are amazing books and I would highly recommend them to anyone expecting! The 1st 2 are absolutely hilarious and have a huge amount of raw honesty - which I appreciate with my humor.

Thinking: About the baby nursery. I kind of want to do an under-the-sea theme because we love scuba diving. It would be cute to have little octopus and mermaids to decorate the room. The other theme is outdoors - and have cactus, javelina, and tortoises?

Although we are having a girl - I do not want a pink room.

Feeling: I sound a little like a broken record, but I have been feeling a little "down". I'm just tired of feeling like throwing up, and now I'm not really sleeping b/c nausea has decided to keep me up at night. The past 2 nights I've been up every hour.

That combined with the decreased social interaction secondary to COVID19 and everything being closed/canceled - it is just sort of getting me.

Anticipating: Thanksgiving :D That is really far off. But Ryan and I are booking a log cabin in Prescott, AZ for the long weekend. It will be in the pines. We plan on cooking our Thanksgiving dinner, doing a lot of hiking, reading, and relaxing. Prescott is also called "The Christmas City" and  it gets very decorated for Christmas - so it will be fun to walk around the town square.

This is Prescott @ Christmastime. Isn't it so dreamy? I adore all things Christmas, so this will be a really fun way to celebrate our "babymoon"

Working: On wrapping up and passing off my projects, since I only have 3 weeks left in my current role. I was in the middle of some big projects - so hoping I can get them in a good place before transferring!

Grateful: For a husband I actually like. During COVID, he has really become my everything since I'm kind of 'stuck' with him all the time. I still legitimately enjoy our time together.

Also, I probably haven't been the most fun person to be around these past few months, and he has been very sweet and patient. He offers me ice water and crackers in the middle of the night when I'm not feeling well, he booked me a massage last week, and even cooks me breakfast some mornings when he is home (because he works kind of a weird schedule).

Listening: To Sirius XM Chill radio a lot. We got a new vehicle last month, and I get a 3 month subscription to Sirius XM radio. I won't continue the service beyond that - but I sure am enjoying it while we can!!

Wishing: For survival through these next, now, 15 weeks of grad school! I started my capstone on Wednesday. I spent a total of 11 hours this weekend doing homework. By the end of the school week, the count will be around 20! I cannot wait to be done!!!

Your Thanksgiving plans sound so fun! It will be nice to be in a Christmasy location with colder temps! And a log cabin sounds so charming! Good call to book something and treat yourself to a little babymoon!

I hope and pray that you start to feel better soon. That would really wear on a person. Being nauseated is the absolute worst and then to have it happen at night at doubly bad!!!

Like Lisa, I sure hope you feel better very soon as enough is enough! Being tired and sick is such a drag.
I’m so excited for you to be done with grad school and the end is in sight! You will surely have to celebrate in some way, but your thanksgiving escape sounds perfect.
Your blogs really entertain me, so keep it up!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

One Confused Lady

Yesterday morning was packed with a session of cross training.....rushed home to shower and get professional-looking....headed across town for an interview.....kicked butt at my interview...."bopped" over to our house to see the progress of the build......headed to the "design center" to sign more paperwork.... (Side note: I cannot get over just how much paperwork is involved in building a house. Holy Hannah. And we haven't even closed !!! Iy-yi-yi....Those lovely people in history who got law-suit-happy.....God bless 'em.) Yesterday was a good day! So here's a little humor for your Thursday. A little thought. A little depth.....( A little cynical rant ) Afterwards, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to peruse.... Target. But my experience at Target was far from fun, relaxing, or pleasant. Just confusing. Loud. Crazy. Despite many screaming children-temper tantrums.... Which is common and un-escapable. Although screaming chi...
