Heavenly

It has been a rough few weeks. So words cannot explain how happy I am to have last night, today, and Saturday off! Last night was my 1st real night of sleep in awhile, and I was delirious. My poor husband did not sleep well, due to my talking throughout the night and attempts to sleep walk.

Apparently there were four instances where I would tap him and ask "How are you feeling?? Are you feeling okay?"

But I feel very refreshed & rested today! :) (Poor guy. I used to be a sleep walker/talker when I was younger ...but thought maybe I had outgrown that?!)

On the agenda for this weekend & a few tidbits:

  • Enjoying a cup of coffee and reading my Kindle. I'm reading "The Four Hour Body" right now. It's written by the same guy that wrote "The Four Hour Work Day" -- he's one that believes things can be achieved in short periods of time in a fast-pace. His book references several professional/olympic atheletes, MD's, sports medicine docs, etc.....I'm very curious what he has to say...so that's what I'm reading! If his method's are believable, I am game. But this health nut is skeptical!
  • The coffee I'm drinking is "Organic Swiss Almond Beans" -- I got them from the farmers market in my neighborhood. It is delicious -- has a rich blend to them!
  • My husband has his "off Friday" today. His company gives them every other Friday off. We never seem to "match" on those -- so this is wonderful.
  • Yesterday I saw my husband for the 1st time since Monday. And we live in the same house. So today is nice.
  • We went to one of my favorite brewery's in town  for a drink & some smoked salmon. It was heavenly. They serve my favorite beer in the whole world. It's called "Orange-You-Glad". It's a very heffenweizen-ish tasting brew. But extra-orange. Yum.
  • I am currently in search for a new, interesting recipe for burgers -- for I'm wanting a gourmet-style burger tonight. (I'm open to your suggestions!!)
  • We have a wedding to attend tomorrow - which is the 1st wedding I've been to since our own wedding!
  • I wonder if I'll get teary eyed. I used to dislike weddings. I'd rollll my eyes at the criers. I'd say, "Oh for God's sake. Get ahold of your emotions, you sap"
  • Now, whenever I see a wedding on tv -- I get tears in my eyes.
  •  I even got a tear in my eye during Jim & Pam's wedding on the "The Office".
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Do you decorate for Valentine’s day?

No, I don't. However, I do kind of miss making the themed valentine's day boxes from elementary school...And the sweethearts that having the little messages on them!

2. Does your desktop have a picture or computer graphic? Is it organized?
My desktop is blue. It has a picture of the "windows" symbol. I like to live on the wild side.
Yes, it's organized. I get so irritated when people will take an icon they use frequently and move it out on the side so they can see it early. Keep your shit in order, and you won't have to do that my friend!!!!!

3. Do you use a paper planner, electric planner or no planner at all?

I have 2 calendars on my fridge. One is a whiteboard, one is a calendar my sister-in-law makes with pictures of all my nephews. Those are where I write most events/scheduling down. My black-berry is my main planner. I would be lost without it.

4. Do you change purses or bags often or stick with a good thing?
I change purses once/year pretty much. Once again...living on the wild side.
5. What’s your favorite YouTube Video?
Probably just a comedy excerpt of Tosh.O. I'm not a big you-tuber.
6. Do you use Turbo Tax or a real person to pay your taxes?
I use my husband.

I think he uses Turbo Tax?

7. How many states have you set foot (or tire) in? Which ones?
Many. North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Minnesota, Colorado, Wyoming, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Washington DC, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Alabama.

I think I got them all? :)

8. How many countries have you been in? Which ones?
America, Canada, Mexico.
9. How many pillows are in your house? (Sleeping or decorative)
4 sleeping pillows on our bed, 6 decorative on the bed as well. Yes, I'm excessive lol. 4 on the guest bed,

Our couches "backs" are microfiber pillows too, if you want to count those. So that would add 11!

10. How cold is too cold for flip flops?
I don't wear flip flops unless it's like....76 degrees.

I have the circulatory system of a 90 year old. So my toes get very numb-- so  I require socks and toe-covering shoes frequently.

Dreaming

Right about now...I would like to go back 1 1/2 years to....

Our honeymoon.

A place where we "stressed" about what we would have delivered for breakfast after our morning jog on the beach.

"Yogurt, fresh papya, and granola? Or a fresh omelet?"

"Mimosa? Or, Blood Mary?"

A place where we pondered...."Do we lounge by the pools first, and then go to the beach? Or do we go to the beach first?"
"Should I get a daquairi or a pina colada?"
"Hm...this is difficult."

"Do we go sailing? Or Kayaking?"

Playa del Mujeres Cancun, I am dreaming of you. I know you miss us too.............

I promise I will even prush up on my Spanish a little prior to returning. That way I don't sound like a dumbass explaining how I want my Mechelada. (I think that's how it's spelled??) (for those of you who don't know...this is pickle juice, clamato, y cerveza. Yum)

I won't even complain about customs, or the $60 taxi ride to our hotel, or the dirty Cancun airport (the taxi-driver had us PEGGED as clueless Americans....)

*sigh*

I am sleep deprived. I shouldn't complain. I'm only a nurse. I was at the hospital 62 hours last week, because I signed up for extra shifts and I had classes during the day. That's not even close to the amount of hours a doctor puts in. I honestly don't know how they do it.

Yesterday morning when I crawled into bed after my 4th day...I could hear IV pumps beeping and call lights dinging. I could'nt get the beeps out of my head. I felt like I was losing my mind....

I really don't mind feeling sleepy -- but if ANYONE has tips on how to get rid of the flighty-stupidity that comes with sleep deprivation?! Please help.  Starbucks Trente is not an option, so don't even think about suggesting I chug 31 ounces of Mocha-choco-carmelato-hazel-achino.

I am back to the grind pretty much until Friday! Boy, am I excited for Friday!! :) :)

I hope you are all having a good week! January is almost over!!! I love when a month ends for some reason. Even if its been a great month.

And football season is almost over too! (*jumping, prancing, and dancing for joy.*)

We haven't turned on our heat in 2 weeks.

Envious yet? My friends up north? :)
