Ten On Tuesday!

Feels as though it as last Tuesday minutes ago! Wow the week flew!

1) What was the last concert you went to?
Dashboard Confessional back in 2006 with my sister Lisa! It was a fun sister date before I headed off to college! We went running shoe shopping, out for sushi with our brother, and to the concert! Oh...and she took me to Starbucks. It was the first time I had ever drank coffee before!

(I just realized that....)
Thanks Lisa, you officially started my coffee addiction! :) I don't know where I'd be without it!

2) Is it easy to make you cry?
That totally depends on who it is. I can be extremely talented at being very stoic with no emotion. And then there's days where I'm like a water hose of tears! But I rarely do the whole "happy cry" thing.

3) Do you ever feel like people underestimate you?
Yes--I think. I don't know if "underestimate" is the correct word for this. But being I'm young, and I'm the youngest in my family, and I'm quite fresh in the world of careers/marriage/etc.....some view me as a young-twenty-something kid without a clue.

I could write a lengthy, angry, ranting post about this. So I will just move on.

4) Name 7 completely random things you like:
-Diet Mountain Dew
-The smell of dryer sheets
-Workout clothes
-Piano
-jazz
-cobble stone streets/sidewalks
-tulips

5) What's your favorite reality tv show and why?
-The Biggest Loser. It's the only one I ever have watched. I like seeing people change their lifestyles!! I also love watching them suffer.

6) What is your favorite hair-care product?
-I don't have a hair care product I swear by at this point in my life. I just don't feel right using my college loan money on top-of-the-line hair products. I stick to Fruictise. (sp??)

7) What's your favorite song at the moment?
-That's tough! Sadly enough, I don't listen to a lot of music anymore. Just classical, jazz, or Christmas music as background to accompany studying or make my house sound pretty!

8) What's the #1 thing on your Christmas list?
-All I want is to make it to ND safely, with no travel difficulties!! That's all I ask for!

9) Have you ever lost your phone?
-Only temporarily. I've left it at stores. I've left it on my car all day long in July in AZ and watched it almost burst into flames (only an exaggeration...). But never *really* lost it.

10) Did you attack the shoppers of Black Friday?
-Kind of. We headed out at about 6:30 Friday morning. We had intentions of waking at 3:30...but that didn't happen. I'm glad.
-The sad part is...all the shopping done was for myself! But the items purchased were practical and neccessary. Except for the black cocktail dress -- probably not all that necessary.

This is the first time I've been the first to respond! I, too, hope your trip to ND goes smoothly! We are so excited to have the whole family together! About the phone - maybe you have never really lost one, but how about the time you dropped it in the "toilet"? That's worse than losing it! Chuckle chuckle!
I totally don't under-estimate you. I am always telling my friends that you & Ryan have your heads on so straight and are both so driven/mature for your age! But I know it is probably frustrating being the baby of the family. I think it's weird for some of us (like me) to see you growing up and getting jobs and getting married because we always you as the baby of the family and now you are growing into this beautiful young woman and it's just weird? I don't know how to explain it - but I def don't underestimate you. not at all!

I am so glad I introduced you to good coffee! :)

And yah - that DC concert was such a fun sister bonding time!! Plus that is when I introduced you to Mizunos!!!!

I agree with Lisa-I'm impressed with yours and Ryan's maturity and drive, and know that you're going to improve with age, but I never underestimate you!

I'm praying you have safe, easy travel to ND, as well!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for
