Ten On Tuesday!

1. Sometimes I wish my life was more.......
-Planned. I plan my weeks down to the day, down to the hour, to the minute, almost to the second. However, I don't know when I have clinicals next rotation (which is in a month), I don't know the exact day I graduate, take my NCLEX, start working. I don't even know if I have a solidfied job, when it starts, where I'll be, and what not. It drives me nuts and keeps me from sleeping at night!!

2. How do you cure the hiccups?
-You remove the inflammation that is occuring with your stomach/esophagus. How this is done? I am not positive. I have found that drinking lots and lots and lots of water (NOT ice water, however!) Or take Tums. However, when I Get the hiccups -- I might as well just go hide in my own private room b/c it'll go on for a lonnnng time! It gets annoying.

3. What are 3 of your favorite indulgences?
-Yogurt + frozen fruit + dried oatmeal
-Clothes shopping
-A glass of wine

4. Where is the most exotic place you would like to travel to? The most mundane?

-Exotic? I lack global knowledge when it comes to traveling -- but I would like to go to Africa. Maybe a safari?
-Mundane...I don't know if it's mundane -- but I would like to see Antarctica. It's so natural, preserved, and beautiful....but cold.

5. Does having your time planned out stress you or relax you?

-Definitely relaxes!!!!! Refer to Question #1.

6. What are your favorite fabrics to wear?
-Fabric? Hi. I am basically a boy. I don't really know fabrics very well. But I love wearing sweaters. And nylon -- work out gear! :)

7. Do you sleep through the night?
-No :( I used to....I used to be such a great sleeper. Now I arise at about 3:00 AM -- and stare at the clock, pray, stressed, and stare at the clock.

8. When you were younger, what did you think you would be doing at this age? How close is that to what you are doing?
-I thought I would be an architect. I also thought I'd have like 4 kids. I have no concept of time, age, or anything at all. My predictions are so far from my life now.

Thank God!!!

9. What has surprised you most about growing up?
There are serveral factors that stand out to me as I grow up. The greatest thing that stands out to me (not so much surprises) is that the lessons & advice my parents taught me came SO true. If I would have completely listend and acted all ears on what they told/taught/embedded in me...life would've been so much easier to "get".

I am surprised by how fast life goes the older I get!

10. Are you good at keeping secrets?
-Yes. Although difficult at times, I'm pretty good at keeping things quiet. I used to not be, but as I have grown -- I have become more "conservative" and quiet about things.

Yup, we all wish we had listened to our parents more! That's all a part of growing up! But, I'm sure there are plenty of people that never listened to their parents or ever wished they had! I'm glad you feel the way you do! Sleep patterns come and go - hope yours gets better, my Dear!

We are so similar! I am also quite the planner & don't like the feeling of not knowing what the future holds... Hopefully you'll have time lines for everything soon! Try not to stress too much - I really think it will all work out for you!

Thanks for reminding me about the tums story!!

Abby, I was just talking to my own mom about things she said or advice she gave when I younger that I wish I had listened to or followed at the time. Now that I'm an old mom, I'm on the other end of that equation! ha ha

Hope things get less stressful for you...it stinks that you're not getting good sleep!

I think everyone in our family must have trouble sleeping through the night. My answer: crossword puzzles. Your grandma used to get up and iron clothes. Yikes!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

One Confused Lady

Yesterday morning was packed with a session of cross training.....rushed home to shower and get professional-looking....headed across town for an interview.....kicked butt at my interview...."bopped" over to our house to see the progress of the build......headed to the "design center" to sign more paperwork.... (Side note: I cannot get over just how much paperwork is involved in building a house. Holy Hannah. And we haven't even closed !!! Iy-yi-yi....Those lovely people in history who got law-suit-happy.....God bless 'em.) Yesterday was a good day! So here's a little humor for your Thursday. A little thought. A little depth.....( A little cynical rant ) Afterwards, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to peruse.... Target. But my experience at Target was far from fun, relaxing, or pleasant. Just confusing. Loud. Crazy. Despite many screaming children-temper tantrums.... Which is common and un-escapable. Although screaming chi...
