Ten on Tuesday!

Another Community-Health 13 hour-day of clincal, class, running around like a beheaded chicken day DONE! Hurray!

And it's time for some Ten on Tuesday!

1. If you could open any type of store/place of business (money is no obstacle), what would you open?
-A fitness center.
-Not just your average fitness center. It would be big, beautiful, state of the art. Each person would have the ability to come to the gym and get whatever type of work out you want. Either private and absent of annoying meat-heads OR you can have your "group" environment.
-People would look forward to their work out and would feel excited to get into shape.

2. If all jobs paid equally, what occupation would you want? Why?
My first choice, since this is the realistic one -- would be a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Maybe Monday through Thursday, 8-5.

But my DREAM job description would go like this:
"Opening for house wife in the Ryan Nastase household. Must wake at 5:30 am to cook breakfast, brew strong coffee, and pack healthy delicoius lunches for Mr. Nastase. Daily distance runs and weight training must be incorported into the workday. Must be able to operate state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners and scrub floors with PineSol daily. Must have expertice, or just a basic ability to garden and can. Proficient knowledge of sales at Target and Ann Taylor Loft to furnish life and wardrobe appreciated. No masters degree required, but experience with lounging by a pool and reading is preferred. Must be able to cook dinners and open bottles of wine."

Hey, I can dream - right?

3. If you could be any animal in the world, what would you pick? Why?
A flamingo. I don't really like animals. Flamingos are the only animals I don't hate. They're so pink! And they stand on one leg!!!!! How cool.

I originally was going to answer "dolphin"... but then realized that'd be a horrible life. They're about equal to a circus freak in human life. I mean, what if they don't want to do flips and jumps for a damn cheap scrappy piece of tuna?! What if they enjoyed their life in the ocean? What if they are having a bad day and don't want to be charming and cute? Jeesh! So much pressure in a dolphin's life!

4. 4. If offered one “service” free of charge, which would you choose? (chauffeur, maid, personal shopper, chef, etc.)
-Chauffeur! I haaate driving -- I'm such a bad driver. But -- my chauffer would have rules to follow:
*My chauffeur would not be allowed to talk.
*If he/she talked...they'd get a decrease in pay.
*I could talk though. I could talk their ear off. Car time is my thinking/unwinding time.
*They must listen to whatever music I decide upon.
*They are not allowed to make fun of my loud singing with music.

5. What is one habit, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to break?
-Fidgeting! I am SUCH a fidgeter. Constantly playing with my hair, messing with buttons on my shirt, playing with my phone, doing anything to keep my hands busy. My nervous habits are so annoying!! Sorry world and people who have to deal/talk to me. I am sure it is painful.

6. What is one thing that no matter how many you own, you still love to buy all the time?
-Work out clothes and swimming suits!! You can NEVER have too many race-back tanks, sports bras, and clearance-rank Target swimming suits!!

7. Out of all the game shows (past and present), which would you want to be a participant on and play?
-Ick. I hate game shows. Silly. Waste of money. The only ones that I have some respect for (Jeopardy) -- I'm not even smart enough to be on. I lack knowledge outside of my realm of practice.

8. If you could play the lead role in any movie that’s already been made, which movie would you pick?
-Don't even have to think about this one. It is my life-long secret dream (well, not secret anymore) to be Maria from The Sound of Music. I have that movie memorized. And I have a nun habit from a play I was in back in highschool!!

9. Name 5 things on your bucket list (things you want to do before you die).
-Grow a complete garden full of herbs, fruits, vegetables, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, and the whole works!!
-See the cathedrals of Rome.
-Sky dive with my husband.
-Qualify for the Boston marathon.
-Get a book published.

10. Which one of your birthdays was the best? What did you do that day?
-Last year's birthday! So full of surprises:
*Ryan surprised me and took the day off
*I came home to a clean house, balloons, and a baked/frosted cake
*We biked 20 miles through our favorite national park
*My parents flew to AZ to surprise me!!!!!!
-My birthday will be amazing again this year because my sister Lisa will be in the area and I get to spend it with her!! Yay for family on birthdays! I could get used to this!!!

I am also a fidgeter! Such a terrible habit. I have gotten better as I've gotten older so there may be hope for you! :)

I hate buying bathing suits - but probably because I have NOT bought many work out clothes - corelation? Hmmm??? My dream job would be to become a housewife again, too! I have so many things I want to do in that realm!

What a fun group of questions to answer.

Loved your dream job description (don't hate me because I'm living the dream! ;) ) I had no idea you can "can"!! I recently decided I want to can some homemade salsa and hotsauce.I would love it if you would show me.

Also, our bucket lists are almost identical!! (Substituting "Chris" for "Ryan" of course!)

Have a great week.

P.s.-No WONDER you love buying bathing suits...you look fabulous in ALL of them. :)

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for
