Ten on Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! I really should be studying for my test this afternoon, but feel compelled to take a break from reading about antipsychotic drugs and anxiety disorders!!! I had a great weekend -- tons of housework done, cooking, and a half-marathon completed! (Post to come soon on that....). Summer has officially arrived it AZ - it's supposed to be 90 today. Not sure if I'm quite ready for 90...but....it's here! :)
1. What television character do you identify with?
To be honest, I don't want much television outside of the news and The Bachelor. And I don't want to identify myself with any of those characters! :-)
2. Describe your morning routine.

Wake up, turn on news, grind coffee beans, brew coffee, pour cereal, cut up banana, make husbands breakfast and lunch, eat breakfast.  (Non clincal days I then usually work out, Clinical days I'm out the door at 5:30)
3. How do you do lunch? Bring from home or dine out? Same thing every day or mix it up?
Always pack a lunch. I absolutely hate eating out for lunch. Such a waste of money!! Why pay $9 for a salad  that I could've made at home? And I eat a salad of some fashion every day for lunch.
4. What is one moment that, although seemingly trivial at the time, changed your life?
First weekend of the fall semester my sophomore year I was in a sorority. I only went to the events that were mandatory. (In other words, I was a bad member). But one night, I decided to go to an event at one of the fraternities - a volleyball match-up. I hate volleyball, but decided to go. That night I ran into Ryan for the first time in a year -- and it was all history from there! If I wouldn't have gone..we probably would've have hit it off!
5. Name your top three beauty products.
-Revlon hair dye - box mix. Yep. I'm a real fashionista.......
-My hair straightener....
-Shampoo?....

I am not a big beauty product person.

6. What do you do when you’re alone in the car?
Enjoy the quiet and freedom from everything. Often turn my phone on silence, find some music to match my mood, and sing along.
7. What is the ideal city for you to live in? If you can, take this survey (< that’s a link) and tell us the results. Do you agree with them?
This was kind of fun! I recommend you try it! It was pretty accurate. I always say I either want to be in Minnesota with family or near water. All I want is some damn seasons!

I took the quiz and here are my top 5 cities:
1. Asheville, North Carolina
2.Bloomington, Indiana (random....)
3. Hampton, Virginia
4. Roanoke, Virginia
5. Ann Arbor, Michigan
8. Are you waiting for something?
-August to be done with! Then I will be done with school. I would also like to know for sure that my sponsoring hospital will be hiring me straight after school. Some people in former cohorts at my school have been waiting around 5, 7, 9 months before they get hired by their hospitals. And I'm not okay with that. So I'd like to know. This is driving me absolutely crazy and stressing me out beyond belief. In the meantime...I'm looking elsewhere.

9. What was the last shocking news you heard?
Probably that man in my hometown was murdered. I came from a small, pleasant, 500-person, farming community where nothing "traumatic" has ever occured. So hearing that was shocking and sad!

10. What are three things you wouldn’t do for a million dollars?
-Abandon my husband or family
-Give up my leg or any appendage (Random, but sometimes I hear people say things like "Oh, I'd give up my left leg for that". I wouldn't. I like my legs, they take me many places and are extraordinarily useful.)
-Live in China

I took the quiz and my top spots were:
Little Rock, Arkansas
Portland, Oregon
Baltimore, Maryland
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Providence, Rhode Island
New Haven, Connecticut

That was fun!
I think Minneapolis is where I am meant to be. yes, i whine and complain about the weater. a lot. But at the end of the day, I do really love it here! Esp in the summer when I am just 2.5 hours from the cabin. Now you & Ryan just need to move back so we can have weekly grilling dates. :)

Remember when you were obsessed with "I Love Lucy" reruns? Hmmm???
I hope you find out very soon about where you will be working after school if done - my prayers!
I will take the test on location, too! I wonder where I'll end up?
I have to agree about the legs and living in China!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c
