Ten On Tuesday

Ryan & I had a fantastic weekend. Recap-Post to comeWhich was essential! Especailly since this week we are currently experiencing is a rough one! I am taking a quick break for studying for some sanity, however - so here's my 10!

1. What would the title of your autobiography be?
Diaries of Dear Abby

2. What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard a child say or seen him/her do?
Oh jeez, there are so many comments my nephews have said that make me laugh. I don't even know where to start. All of them have their one liners that will never be forgotten!

*Tear*. I miss them sooo much!

3. What is your favorite kids game to play?
Hmm....I think I'm going to have to say Candyland. I just get excited about the different characters.
4. If you got invited to a potluck BBQ tomorrow, what would you bring?
I would whip up some home-made salsa or guacamole. And I would make some type of salad (either an interesting quinoa or taboulleh salad). If they wanted deserts, I would whip up either a key lime or Lemonade pie! (Which I will be attempting to do this weekend.)

5. If your ears are pierced, how old were you when you got your ears pierced?
I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade. Not positive, though.

6. If you were celebrating your 30th anniversary, where would you want to go?
Back to the resort where we had our Honeymoon - Cancun. Or Italy. Or a Hawiian Cruise.

7. What one blogger would you love to meet and why? And what would you want to plan to do with them?
I would love to meet up with Lisa Yarns. I'd plan a run around the Chain of Lakes in Minnesota, then we would get coffee, and maybe cook a fun dinner in and meet up with family OR go to Nami in Minneapolis for some sushi!

8. On a scale from 1-10, how good at you at home decor? (Pictures welcome.)
Probably like a 3-4. Let's not talk about home decor. My house is very bland. My kitchen is alright, it's cute. But the rest - very very bland. This house is being rented - so I have no ambition to spend money on decorating if we are only going to be here until like January! But when we have a home, then things will change and that number may increase.

9. Do you have good fingernails?
Now that I live in AZ, and not in the cold climates of ND - yes! My nails are strong and healthy. I can't have them too long because that just screams germs! (especially being in the hospital)

10. Pickles: Dill or sweet? Baby, spears, or chips? Plain or on a burger?
Sweet pickles are just wrong. Pickles, in my opinion, need to be strong and vinegary! I personally like not the baby/spears/chips - but the BIG dills. Mmm. I also like Jalepeno Baby Dills. I like them plain, on burger, on sandwich, on salad, on anything. I love pickles!

Your meet up sounds fabulous! Someday! :)

I think your guys' house looks really cute, actually. Esp your kitchen. My place is also very bland, but I think that is just our taste, maybe? you know, the who simple elegance look? Decorating is def not my forte, but I do make more of an effort as a homeowner than I did when I rented...

You both got your home decorating talents from you Mom - sorry! I would love to be better at it but just never had the knack! But, Abby and Lisa, both of your places look very nice and I think you've done a great job of decorating. Of course having lots of money would help, right? And, you are invited to a BBQ at the cabin this weekend - so bring on the qaucamole!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for
