Tomorrow the woman who inspired me to be a nurse will pin me with my BSN pin. My Mom, Marlys.
She once was a nurse, before my Dad bought a business - and she now is office-manager-extraordinaire. (She pretty much runs the place ;) ) Even though I never knew her as a nurse, that's what I think of her as! Probably due to her nurturing qualities!
It does not feel real to me that I'm done with college! If fact, I've been kind of "glum" all week. I've felt like kind of a failure.
I always envisioned graduating from college with a job in my hands promising a great career. And I don't. My sponsoring hospital hasn't given me any word yet. And I'm basically worthless until I get my RN license.
But, I've had a change of heart - and really need to kick the negativity out the door. This is one of these horrid siutations in life where I can't control everything. All I can do now is pass my NCLEX exam, get my license, and apply like crazy and pray for the best!
So I am going into this weekend head on and am going to try my hardest to focus on the positive! I'm done! My Mom and Dad are coming! This is the 1st time I've seen any family all summer long - so I am very excited! It means to world to me to have them here this weekend!! :)
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Don't beat yourself up. Unfortunately, there are so many people in your shoes. Good, hard working, intelligent people who are unable to find jobs due to the crappy economy. Trust me when I say that I know how stressful it is to not have a job... It makes you want to sort of live the life of a hermit in an attempt to avoid the questions about where you will be working. Keep your head high. Study your little butt off for the NCLEX (which I know you will pass with flying colors). In a matter of time, you will be gainfully employed and you can put this time of 'limbo' in the past... Just think of it as a character building experience. And when you do have a job, this time w/out a job will make you really APPRECIATE it, instead of taking it for granted. you know?
So proud of you! Have fun w/ M&D!
