Ten on Tuesday!

1. What is your favorite decor item in your house?
My Christmas Tree.

No, I do not have a Christmas tree up outside of the season. I'm quite strict about this. Advent only.

But, when my Christmas tree is up - I love it!

I also like our baker's rack and kitcen table. I realize this isn't "decor"...but, I like it!

2. What is your favorite hair product?
I like my Tresseme Hairspray. Nothing too exciting. But, it gets the job done. I don't invest much is hair products.

I also like my Loreal hair dye. Yes, I dye my hair. I'm that cool.

3. Are you a good dancer?
Hold on one second, let me think about that one.....

Ahhhahahahha.

Hahahahhaha..

No. I am as sqaure as a wooden box. I enjoy dancing. But, I shouldn't enjoy it - for I'm terrible at it. I did do ballroom in college- but...that's the extent.

4. You get some good news, who’s the first person you call?
My Mom. And Ryan - but Ryan is usually immediately involved in my good news.

5. Would you rather take pictures, or be in pictures?
Taking pictures. I often don't enjoy being in pictures either. ESPECIALLY the "random shots".. You know...when you're around those "picture people" who LOVE taking pictures of the "action". Iy-yi-yi.

Ryan used to work with this guy, who's wife does this whenever they're in public. I always try avoiding the room she's in -- so I don't get random shots of me itching my nose. Or taking a bite of food. That's not candid.

Awkward city.
6. What is your shoe style?
Either very neat shoes. No open toes. I like my toe to be rounded. With a heel.

Or Mizuno running shoes :)
7. How often do you eat out?
Our rule is once every 2 weeks. (Unless we're traveling or something).
8. If someone has food in their teeth, do you tell them?
Yes, but I'm awkward about it. Even with my own husband - I will like pull him in a separate room and whisper it to him. And appologize.
9. Do you fold your underwear?
Absolutely. I might as well iron my fricking underwear.
10. Milk, dark, or white chocolate?
Dark. Yum.

I thought you and Ryan did a smash up job of dancing at your wedding so don't be too hard on yourself! I used to love waltzing but after years of not dancing, because your Dad doesn't like it, I have lost the touch! It's sort of like playing the piano - must practice, practice, practice!

I am posting this on both Lisa and your blogs today. Your great grandmother (our Grandma Veit) ironed her scrub rags. Honestly. And starched her pillow cases. I remember thinking my ears would be scratched when I stayed over night at her house! So, there may be something about neat laundry that carries down through the generations. Do you think?

You are a WONDERFUL dancer! I think video of your first dance would be a Youtube sensation if anyone ever posted it! ;)

I apologize because I am one of those "candid" picture takers...I promise not to post any of you scratching your nose on facebook! lol

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

Good things

I must say there are many good things I have to be happy about right now! I am in my psychiatric-mental health nursing rotation right now. I originally chose nursing as my major beause from the time I was like 12 I wanted to be a psych nurse. I love it so far. The clinicals are incredible. I am finding I am more organized and ahead of things in this class than I ever have been! Now, if I could be this motived with Critical Care and my Capstone this summer......:) Ryan and I got an entire day together yesterday!!!! This is rare. My spring break kind of sucked. He would leave at about 6 a.m., and not return until 8 p.m. The poor guy is spread too thin! So I cherish a day like yesterday! Which consisted of............. Spring Training baseball!!!!!! Diamondbacks vs. Oakland Atheletics. It was nearly a close-out. 10-1. We met his bosses wife at the game and she insisted we ditch our seats & sit in the seats in front of them that they had purchased . So we were FRONT ROW BEHIND HO...
