Ten on Tuesday

I'm taking a break from the 30 Blogs challenge today to partake in the 10 on Tuesday!

Before I go on, let me tell you -- last night was not fun!!!! I had my "New Employee Health Screening" yesterday. I received a multitude of vaccines and blood draws. I was a little off to start with - I had a low grade fever and a blood pressure of 78/50. Eeek.

Once I laid down for bed - I started feeling horrible and it only escalated. I had a fever of 102.4, and my heart was racing like mad! Not a fun night. Feeling better today! But wow! Never will I get that many shots in one "shot" again!

Alright, 10 on Tuesday!

1. Who makes your Thanksgiving dinner?

When we go home, my Mom does! And she does a darn good job at it, too! Last year Ryan & I did our 1st Thanksgiving dinner -- and it was a team effort.

2. What is your favorite recipe the includes pumpkin? (bonus points for including the recipe)
Hmmm...I always love good ole, traditional pumpkin pie! Or the home-made Pumpkin Latte I posted about back in September.
3. What are 5 things you want for Christmas?
I haven't even thought about this..but here are a few things:
1. A Mortar and Pestle
2. Pastry Frame Set
3. Salad Spinner (for those family members who know the infamous story of "wedding registry argument heard around the world" -- I still haven't gotten my salad spinner. I have faith Ryan will come through this Xmas)
4. Dr. Scholls Heat & Massage Foot-spa
5. Probably a gift card to Target -- (due to my inability to think of anything else I want)
4. Does your family draw names or do you buy for everyone?
We always drew names - but now only a few do it since the family is getting so big!
5. How do you feel about motorcycles?
I dislike them! During my ICU/Trauma rotation..I saw WAY too many young people lose their life because of motorcycles.

6. What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy Saturday?
Slow cook a stew or a roast, sip coffee or tea, and bake bread while watching a chick-flick.
7. What is the coolest thing to do in your city?
Enjoy all the beautiful hiking trails. Tucson has many to chose from! And visiting Mount Lemmon which is a 20-degree difference (cooler, of course). It has a cute little town/village on the top called "SummerHaven". They hold Oktoberfest every fall. It's adorable.
8. Do you paint your fingernails?
No. Whenever I try to paint them, I will be peeling it off (yes, peeling it off) within 10 minutes!
9. Who is your favorite actor over the age of 50?
Mel Gibson. I love me an angry, verbally abusive, psychopath.

Just kidding....

Definitely Harrison Ford. He is dreamy.
10. Do you have a high school letter jacket?

Hell to the no. Yuck!

Oh wow, you had quite the day yesterday! Your bp was so so so low! Yikes! Hope you are good as new today.

Had to laugh about the salad spinner... I really hope you get one. I bought one for myself last summer and LOVE it. :)

A salad spinner is a must in a kitchen!

Paul has a mortar and pestle "collection." I think he has six different sets. I gave him one for Christmas years ago (it is the one he now uses all the time). I was so excited for him to open it. We had Paul's family here for Christmas that year. When he opened it, they were all like "What is that?" Not every one understands how necessary a mortar and pestle is in the kitchen.

Hope you are feeling better!
Wow, I can't believe they even agreed to give you that many shots at the same time! Scary! Glad you are feeling better today :)

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

One Confused Lady

Yesterday morning was packed with a session of cross training.....rushed home to shower and get professional-looking....headed across town for an interview.....kicked butt at my interview...."bopped" over to our house to see the progress of the build......headed to the "design center" to sign more paperwork.... (Side note: I cannot get over just how much paperwork is involved in building a house. Holy Hannah. And we haven't even closed !!! Iy-yi-yi....Those lovely people in history who got law-suit-happy.....God bless 'em.) Yesterday was a good day! So here's a little humor for your Thursday. A little thought. A little depth.....( A little cynical rant ) Afterwards, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to peruse.... Target. But my experience at Target was far from fun, relaxing, or pleasant. Just confusing. Loud. Crazy. Despite many screaming children-temper tantrums.... Which is common and un-escapable. Although screaming chi...
