Strange happenings.....

My poor husband did not get very much sleep this weekend, for it was almost as though he had to take care of some old, confused person with "sun-downers" (which is a type of condition where normal elderly people get totally confused, disoriented, looney, and demented when the sun goes down....hence the name)

I just told him, "Well, now you know what it will feel like when we grow old together"

Lord, I hope not.

Twice this WEEKEND ......I sleep walked!!!

Thursday night, I just found myself wandering around the bedroom -- also talking to him. No biggy.

Then Saturday night, (I only VAGUELY remember this)........I apparently got up to go to the bathroom.

All was well. I crawled back into bed. I was alert & awake for this

Then about 20 minutes later, I got up again

I started rummaging around the room. Going into our closet. Flipped on and off the light switch.

And this is how our conversation went:

Ryan: "Abby....?? Is everything okay? What are you looking for?"

Abby:  *in an almost tearful voice* "I'm just real disoriented right now and I don't know where I'm going!"

Ryan: *laughing* Well, why don't know come back to bed?

Abby: *still tearful* "I just don't know where our bed is!!!"

This was the point where Ryan had to sit up, and direct me back to the bed.

Weird!!!!!! Creepy!!!

I've always been a weird sleeper. I've always been kinda restless, a talker, and a laugher in my sleep.

But never have I sleep-walked so much! I've done it 3 times in the past 2 months! I wonder if I attempted sleep walking at all when Ryan out-of-town last week???

Let's hope this is a phase! And a short one at that!!!

I wonder if maybe I'm starting to get used to sleeping during the day, when it's slightly light in our room - so when I sleep at NIGHT when it's totally dark.

Is the a crazy, weird side effect of the melatonin? I only have to take it when I sleep at night -- b/c that's the only time I have trouble now days. The bottle did warn that dreams may be funny.

It DIDN'T say "You will sleep walk like a loon around your house after taking this medications" ...however.

Do you sleep walk ever? Sleep talk?  Am I the only one in this world that does this over the age of 6?

I'm a sleepwalker, actually, so I totally get it! It doesn't happen as often as it used to when I was a kid, but it does on occasion. I'm guessing it has something to do with your funny sleep patterns.

One time, I had a dream that I was trying to push through a really heavy crowd of people. I woke up and I was STANDING IN MY CLOSET trying to push past my clothes. Sleepwalking is truly a strange thing...

I have never walked in my sleep, but both you and Kevin did. I think it definitely has something to do with your sleep deprivation or changes in your sleep pattern. It's a good thing Ryan is there to help you get re-orientated! We used to worry that one of you would walk right out of the house!

I have only slept walked once and it was when I was ridiculously tired! I hope things slow down for you soon and you can get caught up on rest. It is a slippery slope to walk when you are so sleep deprived/exhausted... I remember those days well! Hang in there!
