Well, two weeks have past and I have 4 weeks to go until I get to see Ryan again! I must admit that the time is flying. I often say "time flies when you're having fun". That's not really the case. Time also flies when you're working your a$$ off! I purposely signed myself up to work over time during this time. I purposely have been teaching a lot of fitness classes during this time. I purposely have been signing up for additional projects at work. I purposely have myself super busy to distract me from missing Ryan.
The end result? I'm kind of tired! When I came home from work last week one night with a 101 fever and a massive headache - I realized that I needed to rest a little. So I listened to my body and slept from 7:30 pm until 5:30 am the next morning. It was glorious!
One thing that has dawned on me during this time is, although Ryan used to travel quite a lot for work before, I've never really lived alone. I went from living with my parents, to living in a dorm, to living in a sorority, to living in an apartment with 3 girls, to living with Ryan basically.
This time of living solo has been good for me to really figure things out for myself. And I'm proud. I've managed keeping the pool chemicals balanced, changed light-bulbs having to use a ladder with our 12-foot AZ ceilings (I loathe ladders), managing our bank accounts. I literally did a jig in the pool store when I brought a sample in and he said, "everything is great!"
Some of you may think these are simple things. "Day One Sh*t" (as I always say). But I must admit I'm in a relationship where Ryan does the finances and the maintenance, and the light-bulb changing. I do the laundry and the cooking. People can judge, it wouldn't be the 1st time. I had someone tell me, "That is so 1950's, you should be embarrassed". But, sorry, I'm not! It's our life.
Here are a few discoveries I'd made while "meeting myself":

Here are a few discoveries I'd made while "meeting myself":
- I love peace. My evening routine has become reading a book, a cup of tea (or glass of wine...depending on my day), and some soft music. I plan on getting Ryan on this routine when he comes home instead of us watching television in the evenings.
- I could definitely be a vegetarian if I weren't married to a meat & potatoes man. Lots of lentils, quinoa, and vegetables are being cooked up in the Nastase kitchen lately.
- I enjoy doing the "manly outdoor jobs" - i.e. trimming and removing trees. This is not a surprise to me, as I always love getting dirty in the outdoors.
- Haven't eaten out once during this time, and I don't miss it at all. I like knowing exactly what's in my food! (Except I don't care what's in my sushi.....I love sushi regardless)
- I really cannot imagine life without Ryan. I can do this for months at a time, but I couldn't do this for a lifetime. He brings unquantifiable amounts of joy into my life.

Take care of yourself, though!
