10 Questions...becuase I have nothing nothing else

This was week 1 of my new job! All I can say is I feel like I just completed an outer body experience. a) This is my dream job. b) Holy shit I am on information overload. c) I never got a second to regroup all week.

In addition to starting new job....Tuesday and Thursday I went straight from work to Scuba classes, and didn't get home until 11 pm. Which means my day pretty much went non stop from 4:35 am - 11 pm. I'm not complaining, because obviously this is all positive and exciting things, but I am feeling pretty exhausted!!!

So instead of an insightful post, here are my 10 questions.

1. Twitter or Facebook? Facebook. I don't even know what Twitter does or is. Hi, I may be in my late 20's, but assume I'm a senior citizen.rik

2. Morning person or night owl?
Morning person without a DOUBT!! I am almost non-functional once the clock strikes 9 pm. I claim I turn into a pumpkin after 9 pm.

3. How do you drink your coffee?
Depends on my mood. My usual is with French Vanilla creamer. But if I'm at a nice coffee house, I like a plain latte (or Redeye, espresso w/ coffee) with a touch of sweetener. If I'm drinking iced coffee, I want it black with a little cinnamon. Some days I like almond milk and honey. I am a bit of a snob about my coffee and how it's enjoyed.....

4. It’s 9pm and you’ve got the house to yourself, what do you do?

Pinterest to search recipes and travel, or decorating. While horizontal in bed.
5. What’s on your nightstand right now?
My "5 year memory book". A Bible.  Box of Kleenex. My Kindle. An incense burner with half a stick of lavender incense.

6. What smell do you love?
Fresh baked bread. Chlorox. Especially on hands. My fondest memories are of my Mom tucking me into bed at night, and getting a whiff of the chlorox on her hands (she kept a very clean house). And now my eyes are filling up with tears, because I'm very homesick right now.

7. What smell do you hate?

Bananas. That smell makes me gag. When I worked in the ER, I used to have a co-worker who would put banana peels in MY garbage can just to watch me flip out.

Also, bacon. Instant gag reflex!

8. Other than your current home, where would you most like to live?

I would like to downsize by about 1500 square feet. (Our house is TOO MUCH  house to clean, but we got a screaming deal due to foreclosure). Maybe in a smaller 1-story home near the foothills of Tucson. Preferably walking distance from Sabino Canyon.

My non-practical place would be La Jolla outside of San Diego. But we are should a few billion dollars....

9. If you could eat only one nationality of food for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Japanese.  I could live off sashimi, cucumber salad, and miso soup. And mochi ice cream!!!

10. When you were six years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Architect. Without a doubt. I had an architect program on my computer. I was OBSESSED!! I am so far from an architect now, it isn't even funny!!!

Ha, I remember all of those house plans you used to draw when you were a kid! I totally thought you were going to be an architect some day with how passionate you were about it!!

Sounds like you've had some long days this week but that they've been fulfilling which always helps! I'm so happy that you are loving your new job!

Sorry to hear you are homesick. :( Being far from home is so so so so trough. :( Do you know when you will be back in MN next? It already seems like it's been so long since you were home even though Christmas was not long ago. This morning I ran with a girl that went to AZ last week and it had me craving a trip to AZ. I really want to get out there next spring!

It hurts me that you are homsick, but we are lonesome for you, too! Last year we flew out to spend Easter with you and it was so much fun! Remember the Good Friday service? LOL!!
Wish you could jump in a small plane with Ryan and swoosh to MN for the weekend! Or bi-locate? Wouldn't that be swift?
I'm anxious to hear all about your new job once you get through all the classes & preparation.
You should do a post on your scuba experience - what did it feel like to be under water in that suit? Is it easy to relax and breath?
Keep you big house so we can all come and visit you! But i know what you mean about cleaning it. I must confess that I don't clean as diligently as I did when you kids were all home - partly my age and time! What, I don't have time when I have no children under our roof and no games and concerts etc to attend? Go figure!

Wow I have to admit it's kind of refreshing to read about someone wanting to DOWNSIZE! Most of the time I just hear about how people want a bigger house and we get caught up in that ourselves too even though we currently have more than enough room for the two of us and could easily add a kid or two as well.

I'm a morning person as well but can usually make it to about 10pm each night before I'm totally exhausted!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

One Confused Lady

Yesterday morning was packed with a session of cross training.....rushed home to shower and get professional-looking....headed across town for an interview.....kicked butt at my interview...."bopped" over to our house to see the progress of the build......headed to the "design center" to sign more paperwork.... (Side note: I cannot get over just how much paperwork is involved in building a house. Holy Hannah. And we haven't even closed !!! Iy-yi-yi....Those lovely people in history who got law-suit-happy.....God bless 'em.) Yesterday was a good day! So here's a little humor for your Thursday. A little thought. A little depth.....( A little cynical rant ) Afterwards, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to peruse.... Target. But my experience at Target was far from fun, relaxing, or pleasant. Just confusing. Loud. Crazy. Despite many screaming children-temper tantrums.... Which is common and un-escapable. Although screaming chi...
