Currently

It's been quite some time since I've updated the world with a "currently" post. Here are my current "currently's":

Reading: Follow You Home - I found it on my Kindle, and it seemed like a good "Halloween read". It's kind of horrifying. But I can't put it down!

Thinking: About all that has to be done in the upcoming months - 2 moves in 9 months, another career change. 5 moves in 2 years total, if you really want to get down and dirty. It makes my head hurt when I think about it at this point....

Frustrated: That I cannot have a wife who can clean my house, laundry, grocery shopping. Life has been super busy - and my evenings are spent doing big jobs such as de-cluttering, painting base-boards, cleaning ceiling fans and vents to prepare for selling our house. I need a wife ;)

This is a 1st world problem, I acknowledge this.

Feeling: Annoyed with the forecast of triple digits this week. It's mid October. 100 degrees needs to go away.

Anticipating: My girls trip to Miami Wednesday with my mom, sisters, and sister-in-laws!!! (!!!!!!) So excited. I think this trip is coming at the perfect time to restore my soul ;)

Watching: Seriously zero tv at all these days. It's awesome. We did see "The Martian" in theaters Friday night. Haven't been to a move in about 6 months. I really liked it!

Sad: That there are many people in my life who are dealing with illness and injury right now. Wish I could wave a magic wand, and make everyone feel better.

Working: Hard! But I'm loving my job. Looking back to 1 year ago, I never would have dreamt up the opportunities I'd be facing today.

Grateful: For the full weekend I just got to spend with Ryan. We got a lot done around the house, and did some major catching up on life. It was exactly what the doctor ordered!

Listening: Indie Dance radio on Pandora. It's my new favorite!

Wishing: I could be granted more energy. By the time 8 pm hits, I am so exhausted lately. I have a hard time being productive. I know drinking coffee at this hour is not wise to get more energy. But don't we all wish we had more energy?! Ha! (But if I had a magic genie, that's what I'd ask for!)

We saw the Martian last week too and really liked it! It was only the 3rd movie we have seen in the theater as a couple so clearly we don't see many movies either ;) The book is really good, too!

I am glad you have a vacation + girl time ahead of you as it sounds like you need it! Moving is so much work and then adding uncertainty into it makes it even more challenging. I know you guys will get through this phase but please know you can always vent to me and I won't start sentences my saying 'well at least...' Or 'it could be worse...' Love you!!!

So excited to see you and I think this "vacation" is coming at a great time for you! I know what you mean about needing a wife! I need a husband as your Dad has not been able to do much since middle of July when he had ankle surgery. I miss his help so much and feel overwhelmed at times getting things done myself.
Your weather is too hot - it was 92 here on Sunday but Monday was 50 and extremely windy so quite the change! It turned out that it went down as the hottest day of the year here and also broke records for hottest day in October! It was actually 97 in Fargo! Crazy?
I love it that you enjoy your job and hope you can find one to match in in the months and years to come!
SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c
