Tonight has felt a bit surreal, so I figured a good ole' blog post was due.
A little over 5 months ago....we were packing up our house. And during that time, I thought the next time we "pack up", we would be heading to Texas and then on to South Dakota. I had a completely different job. And almost a different life (!?)
5 months ago, I never would have imagined that the next time we moved...it would be into a home in Tucson!
It is insane how much life can change in such a short amount of time. I'm kind of pinching myself.
Any who asked me over the past month "How is the apartment?" .... they most likely received sort of a negative response. In my defense...I work in this apartment for 40+ hours per week, and Ryan is working night shift. So it's just been a little "too close for comfort"
But in reality, this apartment has been great for us. Really made us appreciate our space, our city, and the luxury of a back yard!
The countdown is on (1 week until closing day) - and we are so thrilled!
Are you a person that needs their space at home? Or are you okay with a small living space, with lots to do in the surrounding areas?

I have pretty much only lived in small spaces since I moved away to college, so it's what I'm used to. I could have kept living in my downtown condo for a long time, but I know that's not the kind of lifestyle that Phil wanted so I had to compromise on that. Our house is still fairly small compared to most people our age as it's about 1,150 sq ft, but it's the right size for us and I really value the location. I think the sweet spot for us is a smallish house in South Minneapolis - we'll probably move to a different home in 2-3 years with a bit more space but I don't think it will be substantially bigger than our current home.
This is the first time I've lived in an actual house in 17 years (unless you count Delta Gamma which wasn't a normal house!) but it's been a pretty smooth transition and I really like our little house! Good luck with your move! It will feel so great to get settled!!!!!
