Happy Tuesday, everyone! Here's my 10 for the week: 1. What type of cell phone do you have and how would you rate it? I have a Blackberry. I used Verizon service. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 6-7. I haven't had any major problems with mine. I'd say the internet is a tad slow. If I could go back in time...I'd get a Droid. 2. What has been your most serious injury? Probably my collar bone breakage at birth? But I don't really remember that. Sooo I'm going to say when I fell running a few summers ago - b/c I was bleeding like a madwoman from the face & knees. And my kneess still have giant scars. Also, last winter I chopped the tip of my finger off chopping cilantro. It hurt. Bad. I bled. A lot. And then 2 days later, I went to the gym, worked hard & dehydrated myself a ibt, got home, took bandage off, and got super dizzy & almost fainted. That sucked. 3. What is one movie you hate and why? Did we really just have a weekend? Let's just say that last weekend was...weird. I worked Friday & Saturday night. So I didn't really have a weekend. Sunday was my birthday. Friday & Saturday afternoon were spent dealing with a multitude of car issues. Yes, multiple. And the story is one of those stories that just "keeps gettin' better". It's a blog post in itself...so stay tuned for that. I had a fantastic birthday. First of all, Saturday night at work was out-of-control crazy busy. But, when the sun came up I was pleasantly surprised with SNOW-COVERED mountains. In fact, the entire TOWN was covered in snow!! You're probably reading this thinking, ".....and...?" We are home from a wonderful, extended-weekend-getaway to Omaha. It was filled with family, relaxations, and greatness. I will do a more detailed recap on it soon! In the meantime, I'm doing this ABC bit that I stole from my cousin 's blog! Also, no -- I did not get switched to days. Life is a whirlwind! Ryan & I have finally had the epiphany that..... We are CONSTANTLY saying "When things slow down....we'll do ________". Then ____ never occurs. Because things never slow down. I've realized this is life - You just have to do what you can when you can! And love every second of it! This week has been nuts. Ryan has been putting 14 hour days in at work. My unit has been crazy. Apparently it's national "Detox off Alcohol" week?!?! I've had police on my floor! I've had patients try to hit me! And let me remind you..this is just a telemetry (cardiac) floor. No psych...not an ED. But to be honest..I love this stuff. My heart is in the craziness! Tomorrow morning we leave for a trip. 1. Any vacations you are looking forward to this summer? A trip to Minnesota sometime either June or July to my family's lake cabin to do some fishing, wakeboarding, and get some quality family time in!! Can't wait! :) 2. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your day......................... I'm going to be honest with you -- I was kinda grumpy about Valentine's Day this year. I told my husband "Don't waste your time getting anything for me this year or trying to be romantic...I have to work Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday so it's not worth it. Let's just pretend Vday isn't happening this year, okay? It will be easier this way" He concurred. Instead of spending Vday having a romantic time with my husband,....... I will be spending it hanging antibiotics, bathing old people, doing assessments, assisting people while they vomit, & running around like a chicken with my head-cut-off at work. How romantic.!!! 1. What’s your favorite kind of donut? I really don't like donuts. At all. They make my mouth dry. And it's just bread...with sugar...It's just one of those things that do not excite me. 2. Do you use the snooze button? Yes. In fact, we purposely set alarms 10 minutes early in this house to allow a "gradual" wake up. I don't like just jumping right out of bed. 3.
