Ten on Tuesday!

Good afternoon, all! It has been awhile since I've participated on 10 on Tuesday...and since I'm trying to do everything possible right now to procrastinate cleaning house and going to the gym...what's a better time to write a blog!?

;)

Here it goes!

1. Is there a band/artist that you HATE?

I don't like the word hate. I was always taught that it's one of those "never words"...but I will say I STRRRRONGLY dislike Lady Gaga. Strongly. Her music, in my opinion, is crap. Annoying. I don't know if it's just her music that gets to me or the combination of her overly-sexual, psychotic image she portrays. Gross.

I also strongly dislike Justin Beaver? Beeber? However you spell it, he drives me nuts. I remember the 1st time I heard him on the radio -- before he can a "Superstar"....I thought this kid has talent, and I had faith in him. He had a beautiful voice. Now, he's turned into a cocky like brat. Good luck with keeping that hihg-pitched voice after you go through puberty, little man.

(Okay, before you think I'm heartless -- I'm implying thick, sarcastic, cynical humor here.)

2. What do you do when you get a gift that you do not like? How do you react?
This is very rare that I would recieve a gift I don't. For, any gift is appreciated. If it were to occur, the giver would know I didn't like it...for I don't do well "sugar-coating" my reactions. I would probably respond in an awkward and uncomfortable manner just saying, "Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

I don't have much of a "poker face"3. How is your work office/cubicle decorated?
I don't have an office desk or cubicle. If I did, it probably wouldn't be decorated. It'd just be really neat, with clorox wipes.

My current "work area" is a nurse's station where I have a computer, my caffeine, and water -- and I excessively wipe the entire area with chlorox in fear that there is some skin-eating bacteria cultivating in my work space. Hospitals are icky.
4. Do you use all of your vacation every year?
No. I probably never will. My schedule requires me to only work 3 12 hr shifts/week. For example, in February we are taking a long weekend where I cannot work from Thursday-Tuesday, and I didn't have to take a single hour of PTO.
5. Did you have a real or fake Christmas tree?
Fake. You can fight me, argue me, call me a grinch -- but I will NEVER subject to a real tree. They are gorgeous, they are beautiful, they are real -- but I don't like pine needles and messes. Plus, I'm a little bit allergic to pine. So I'd probably get a rash decorating it.
I looove my fake, plastic tree.
6. If you could have anything for dinner tonight, what would it be?
Oh...I would love macoroni and ketchup. A childhood favorite of mine. The past 2 nights of work have been hell. Seriously hell -- to the point where it's almost comical.

So, all I want to do is go to the gym, come home, put on comfy pj's, curl up on the couch, and eat a bowl of macoroni & ketchup.
7. Do you bite your fingernails?
Only when I'm uncomfortable. When I'm in an awkward social situation, or talking to someone who is giving me piercing eye contact or who is getting into my "personal bubble", I bite my fingernails out of "discomfort". It's a weird habit of mine.

8. How many cups of coffee do you drink each day?
Depends. I used to be just 1. Now it's 1-3. I also usually have a can of diet soda if I'm working. My caffiene habits are getting to be a problem, and some action may need to be taken in the near future here....
9. Do you have a nervous tick?
I would have to say - yes. I have to be doing something constantly. Usually with my hands. Ryan will actually do "tests" to see how long I can go just sitting still and gracefully....

It never lasts beyond 5 minutes....

10. How often do you vacuum?
About 1-2 times per week. We have less carpet in our new house -- but I just discovered my Dyson handle's tile floors too! So, I am finding myself doing floors about 2 times/week. I think it annoys my husband....especially since I will do it at the randomest of times.

Justin Bieber. Haha..that's how you spell it. I always tell people this whenever they mention him because I truly do think it's hilarious and ridiculous how big he's gotten. He actually grew up with my cousins. My cousin taught him how to climb a tree and made him cry once. (I can't remember why or how??) She was telling me over the holidays, she was at the same party as him and he guess he was just acting like a huge jerk. Hilarious.

Also, I love that you said hospitals are icky. I don't know why, but that just made me laugh!!
I own a Justin Bieber CD. ;) But I agree, his attitude is getting OOC!!

That's nice that you are able to shift around your schedules so that you don't have to use vacation time! Can't wait to hear where you are going!

First Lisa owns a Justin Bieber cd? What are we going to do with her?
I loved mac with ketchup as well when I was little! Too funny
PS: I was recently discussing Lady Gaga with Chris that I don't mind her songs but I hear her concerts become a big homosexual rally and personally when I go to a concert I am there to see a performance, not to have moral/ political views shoved in my face so I would never go to her concerts for that reason.

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for
