Ten on Tues.....er Thursday!

I'm doing 10 on Tuesday a little late!

1. How many blogs do you read every day and what are they? (I’m talking the ones you NEVER miss)

I don't read blogs daily anymore, as lately I've made the decision on nights when I get home from work to eat dinner & spend time with Ryan. But -- My consistent blogs I never miss is Lisa's!

2. How many “best friends” do you have? Do you have different “besties” for different areas of your life?
My best friend is my husband for sure. But I've never been one to have an exclusive "best friend". I'm more of a "lover of all"/"the more the merrier" type of person. I have people I'm close to at work, while I was in nursing scohol, and friends I keep in close touch with from when I lived in ND. My life is just on-the-move this past year and changing fast!

I also would have to say my Mom or Sister are my best girlfriends -- since they're people I trust so much and they are extremely near & dear to my heart!

3. What’s your daily make up routine?
I brush a little blush on my face, slap on some eye shadow, maybe put on a touch of mascera & eye liner (depending on my allergies...it's crazy-super-allergy season here right now), put Carmex on my lips and call it a day!

Glamorous, huh? It's works for me though!
4. What is your ideal girl’s night?
Definitely a girl's night in. Wine, fun appetizers, chocolate covered strawberries, and lots of laughs!

5. Do you keep up with your nails/toenails or are they au natural?
I make sure my nails aren't too long for work - and place a coat of clear. And I paint my toenails prior to date-nights.

I also cannot wear nail polish on my fingernails. Last time I tried, it lasted a wopping 40 minutes? Even on my wedding day, I pleaded with the nail-lady we keep everything "clear" and simple!

6. What’s your best roommate story (assuming you had a roommate at some point in your life)?
One time at band camp...I had a room-mate who did not sleep. She literally sat on the edge of her bed all night long and just kind of stared at the wall. When I discovered this, I too, had a difficult time sleeping. It was extraordinarily creepy. My following years at band-camp...I made sure to make room-arrangements with friends from the previous years to avoid this creepiness.

My freshman year...my room mate was a 19-year-old chronic alcoholic. Sometimes, I'd come into our room on Tuesday mornings between class - and she would be sitting on the floor with her friend taking shots of vodka. They would invite me to join, and I would explain that I had to go to anatomy lab.

After that, I moved into my sorority house -- where I had nice, normal, non-alcoholic roommates. More pleasant living environment!
7. What’s your “go to” outfit that you wear more than anything else?
Bright blue scrubs.

Or......right now I'm wearing these khaki shorts and a cute, striped, loose-fitted shirt. Or capris, cami, & 3/4 length cardigans.
8. Do you have a beauty secret?
Exercise, spending a little time in the sun, staying hydrated, & 7+ hrs of sleep.

Also, my new routine is to put wet washclothes in the freezer and then place over my eyes when I fall asleep.

9. Did you read Seventeen magazine growing up?
I sure did!
10. How did you learn to put on makeup?
I taught myself. Hence why I'm not a big make-up-person. I think it makes me look like a clown.

When I taught myself how to put on make up...I also decided to teach myself how to pluck my own eyebrow @ age 13. Not a good idea. They never really grew back to normalcy....

Who knew we'd both consider each other a best friend? I never saw that coming. Mom gets her 'i told you so' moment. ;)

We are def very similar when it comes to make up, etc. :)

And I totally forgot about your college roommate. Eeks!

I never learned how to do make-up from my Mom hence I couldn't pass on a talent I didn't have! Oh, well!
I count myself blessed that you consider me a "best friend"!!!!

I'm the same way with makeup! My Mom and older sister never really wore it, so I never really wore it either until more recently. Now, in the mornings, I always feel like I have no idea what I'm doing...and I keep it simple. Mascara and a little eye shadow is about all I'm capable of!

I have been bad too lately about keeping up on reading blogs. I get a little bit at night after Elle goes to bed but usually I have laundry to go fold or lunch to pack. I have to say I am looking forward to only having to work for four more weeks and then I'm off for the summer.

That is crazy about your dorm roommate. Sounds like Lisa's situation. Good heavens.

Hope the camping trip went well. We def need to head to Tucson this summer and meet up for dinner. Lets arrange that!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith

Currently - May edition

I haven't blogged much - but the last time I did one of these, Maddy was 9 months old. It's really fun looking back on the things that were "stressors" to me at that time. Prior to that - my currently post was a pregnancy edition.  So here goes May 2022. Maddy is almost a 15-month old and summer has set ablaze here in Tucson.   Reading :  I really wish I had a better answer for this one, but I have not been the best about reading lately. The only book I'm reading is "How to talk to your kids so they'll listen and listen so they'll talk". It is really good. Most of the book is geared more to school-aged kids, in my opinion. But it highlights some great communication skills with children to help them trust you as a parent to be open and honest. Eating: All the smoothies. It has been getting really hot here - and every day when we get home from our stroller run I make a smoothie for Maddy with whole milk, Fage, and fruit - and then a smoothie for

8 Months

Well, I missed month 1-8. But it is never too late to begin, right? Here is a recap of Maddy at 8 months. (I'm totally stealing this idea from my sister, Lisa. I thought it was so neat that she recaps her son's favorites and happenings every month)   How am I sleeping? Better than I was - but not as good as my peers. It also depends on if I'm teething. Last week, her 2nd tooth was poking through - so she was awake 3 times.  No matter how much I let her cry it out, I cannot seem to cut down her feedings. When I go in there - she is literally pulling at my shirt with her mouth wide open. So clearly she's hungry.  She eats 2 times/night and luckily goes right back to sleep. It is what it is. What am I eating? While we have had breastfeeding and bottle refusal struggles - I am so glad that taking to food as been relatively smooth. We are doing baby led weaning, and Maddy really enjoys most every food I've given her.  Her favorite foods are scrambled eggs, apples, and c
