Currently

I am very content with life right now, but I have to stay it's been pretty "simple". Which I kind of planned purposely my 1st weeks of January to really get organized and balanced. Plus we have a puppy at home, so when we are not working -- we've really tried to stay at home.....

So due to my list of "interesting stuff", here is my "Currently post" for the winter!

Reading: I am currently reading "The Kitchen House", which I am having a very difficult time really enjoying. It's a good book, but it seems to be moving slow. Or I'm just moving slow. One of the two...

Thinking:

Frustrated: That I don't have a weekend off until February 20.

Feeling: At this moment, nostalgic. I'm helping my friend plan her music for her wedding in October. She had asked me what my processional song was, so while I was digging through my old "wedding stuff", I happened to pull out my wedding video. And 1 hour later, I found myself drinking a diet coke on the floor of our spare bedroom, computer in my lap, sobbing and blubbering like a sap watching my wedding! I can't believe we've been married 5.5 years. And I cannot believe how young we were!!!

Anticipating: My next Ragnar race! We are doing one in February in Phoenix (Del Sol). Ryan and I are the team captains this time, so lots of planning is involved. We have such a fun team, so it should be a great time!

Watching: American Sniper. We went to that last night in the theater for date night. Highly recommend it!! Bradley Cooper is not only dreamy, but shaping into an incredible actor. It was one of those movies where the entire audience exited in silence......

Sad: That Ryan left for Ohio today. Especially since he gets to meet up with his sister and our nieces/nephews, and then some of our friends from pilot school! Sometimes I get mildly jealous watching him getting to travel somewhere different every 2 weeks. Especially when he gets to see friends and family, and I'm stuck here. (That being said, I know when he travels it makes for very long days/weeks!)

Working: Hard! Winter brings a very busy time to the hospital! Most days lately, I find myself saying multiple times daily, "Where do all these sick people come from?! How can there be so many of them?? Won't we hit a point where eventually everyone's knees & hips will be replaced? Why won't these people stop falling down and breaking their hips, and then getting pneumonia?!" (Sometimes healthcare providers need to find humor in what we do...Please don't think we're cold.)

Grateful: For our winter weather! It is January 20, and is 75 degrees out today. My early morning run, is a perfect 40 degrees. I love this time of year.

Listening: To a new Pandora radio station called "The Piano Guys". It has a lot of strings music, but to modern music. It's fun music to cook to! (because you can sing along)

Wishing: That I had a crystal ball that would tell me that the decisions I'm making are right or wrong. But life would be boring then.....

I heard that American Sniper was really good. The widow of the person the movie was about actually lives in St. Louis Park. I don't know if I could watch that movie, though. It just sounds so intense and I don't do well with intense movies... :/

That is a bummer that The Kitchen House is moving slowly for you... Hopefully it picks up soon!

We are going to see American Sniper this weekend! I'm looking forward to it.

Life is kind of boring for me too right now but in a really nice, quiet and kind of luxurious way. We had a CRAZY spring/summer/fall last year so whenever I start to feel bored or stir crazy I remind myself how burnt out I was and how this year is shaping up to be the same level of busy-ness and that helps me feel less guilty about relaxing so much!

We are hoping to see American Sniper this weekend as we are staying in Wyndmere for the weekend due to a church function.
I am sure your work load is heavy with all the snowbirds living there now. We had a bad ice storm last Saturday morning and I heard the ambulances were so busy in Fargo, not only because of accidents, but because so many people were falling and getting hurt! I was snug as a bug in a rug that morning so didn't experience it!
Anxious to hear about the decisions you are making right now!

What is your color?

Green My favorite color ever! I have to control myself to not purchase too many green things. If I had no control, my house would be green. My kitchen would be lime-themed. With greenery everywhere. My bathrooms would be green. My bedroom would be green. You would all feel nauseated-green after entering my home. (So I don't have a green-themed home) Many things I love are green, such as: Spinach (I eat it a minimum twice a day usually) My weding color was green. (clover green) Limes (I have at least one time a day) Grass. I love the feel of grass, especially since I see it so rarely in AZ (except in my neighborhood that has amazing landscapers with grass-galore) Palm trees. Any tree. Christmas trees. I love Christmas Green Beer. I think the green beer on St. Patty's Day tastes better. My favorite color of eyes. When I was in 9th grade, I so badly wanted to get green contacts. But they made me keep my brown eyes. Diet Mountain Dew (my guilty pleasure) Granny Smith...

A weekend of the great outdoors

As I am preparing for my return to the real world tomorrow, I feel a strong sense of dread. As I won't have a weekend or free week for a long while! Instead of focusing on that.......I'm sharing a few snapshots from our awesome weekend! This weekend we were in Big Lake, AZ -- which is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border (just 5 1/2 hours from our house). (last weekend we were in Parker Canyon...which I will blog about another day) We camped from Friday-Monday, which was the perfect length of time. The temperatures were a great escape from hot Tucson. In fact...it was VERY cold at night. It was in the low 30's at night, 60's during the day. The trout fishing was incredible. Here's a few snapshots: Home Sweet Home for the weekend! Look at the giant tree I cut down!!! Wow!! (Okay, this was posed...) But...Ryan did teach me how to use a wood-saw! There were tons of dead/fallen trees lying around. So we cut all our firewood for the weekend! I felt very ...

One Confused Lady

Yesterday morning was packed with a session of cross training.....rushed home to shower and get professional-looking....headed across town for an interview.....kicked butt at my interview...."bopped" over to our house to see the progress of the build......headed to the "design center" to sign more paperwork.... (Side note: I cannot get over just how much paperwork is involved in building a house. Holy Hannah. And we haven't even closed !!! Iy-yi-yi....Those lovely people in history who got law-suit-happy.....God bless 'em.) Yesterday was a good day! So here's a little humor for your Thursday. A little thought. A little depth.....( A little cynical rant ) Afterwards, I decided to head to one of my favorite places to peruse.... Target. But my experience at Target was far from fun, relaxing, or pleasant. Just confusing. Loud. Crazy. Despite many screaming children-temper tantrums.... Which is common and un-escapable. Although screaming chi...
